I think I have found the issue and fixed it

Counter proposition:

Tentacles from the same master on the same tile act as if they were a single pet.

Problem with this is that summoned pets' power comes directly from their master, that's why most of them die when their master does.
Not quite sure I like a WM being able to swarm planes other than Stygia with feral pet hordes, either.

Honestly, I think NCs are a very neat class overall, but suffer from a bunch of small issues. - Their free skill is awkward (though the "you're always considered neutral for MO gain" bit is real cool). Equilibrium is extra awkward (and a bit too strong defensively when you can stay centere...
