Pets: Brothers Bond naming

With Brothers Bond, Summon Aethersprite will produce 2-4 aethersprites with the same name (if one has selected names for aethersprites, of course). This is both a little disconcerting ("who let all these Paul Gerson Unnas in here") and possibly useful (if you want to know how many aethersp...

Re: Both portals 995 and 996 pull the lever, instead of the latter taking you to Wilderness Underground

How'd you even mess this one up, guys? Easy as pie. You start typing, and before you know it, software. And with software, bugs. You wouldn't think people would still be surprised by this. We've collectively been busily making bugs for about 80 years, now, ever since ENIAC, and I personally have be...

Re: Return of the Skillz Police

I celebrate the Skillz Police first Accidental Explosive Murder. Yes, indeed, just like the good old days, the Explosive Murder button is just a quick mis-click away from the other combat buttons. Whee! Boom!

Re: Return of the Skillz Police

Fred found a miscreant and attempted an arrest: - You say, "My word! You HAVE learned the Advanced Thrown Weapons skill! How delightful! How unexpected! Shamefully, I must admit that I have NOT learned Advanced Thrown Weapons." (2024-09-13 15:54:36). - You say, "I regret that I must a...

Re: Gameplay: hitting a hiding player has chance to unhide

I have no opinion on how this would affect combat, but certainly it makes some sense from a story perspective:
Huh, why the heck is Bob beating on empty air with that chainsaw? And also, why is blood splattering everywhere, gosh air doesn't usually miraculously generate quite so much blood.

Items: Welder's clothing items

Now that we may harvest steel, might I suggest we add personal protective equipment for those happy harvesters. The most likely tools for the itinerant steel harvester would be a cutting torch, plasma cutter, or thermal lance, and the Cordillera Institutes of Occupational Safety and Health would lik...

Evil doors, moderately evil pariahs, mandatory skills

Fred Dullard found a locked door. The door did not have the Advanced Thrown Weapons skill, so you can guess what happened next. Much to Fred's dismay, he was unable to use Hellfire (or indeed Enervate) on the door. How is this even possible? "Who would take this skill? Why is it even in the gam...

Re: Return of the Skillz Police

In the who-would-have-guessed department, Fred was not murdered in the Convenient-Ammunition-Store. Fred was murdered elsewhere. Several elsewheres. Perhaps Fred should hide in the Convenient-Something-Store more often, though. Fred is an old stick-in-the-mud, and expected to encounter more seekers-...

Re: Return of the Skillz Police

In honor of the Ancient Writings, I am happy to say that Fred Dullard is hiding in the Convenient-Something-Store, because what are the odds that anyone would come to such a place and search for the Convenient Somethings, nor does Fred condone a world where people (other than Fred) have senses that ...
