Refunded custom spell - Can't create a new custom spell

I was switching over spell types from one damage group to another. I unlearned my custom spell so I could learn the same spell in the new damage type. However, I did not revert the spell to its base form before unlearning it. It is not letting me rename the new spell because I haven't undone the old spell yet.
