Make it cost slightly more AP than you’d normally spend compared to rolling the dice with your hide-rate, just like the harvest option.
I’d really just like to be able to budget in the AP hide instead of getting bodied by the RNG and APing out.

Having a last-ditch option to go a few -ve AP but actually hide after an absolutely brutal bad luck streak would be nice.

I think a pity roll system would be more appropriate for hiding (chance to hide increases with each consecutive failed attempt). A "harvest" system would mainly benefit people trying to hide before logging out, especially if you're allowed to go into negative AP, which I don't think is necssarily a good thing for the hunting meta. Pity rolls would favor people who already have invested in Hide and Advanced Hide, including those using sneak attacks, which are pretty inefficient at the moment unless you're playing a class specifically built around them like the Void Walker.
