I think it could be very helpful/entertaining if you could label items in your inventory using writing tools, with the writing effects included - you could label secret ingredient food! You could tag all your work as a smith! Alternately, let conduits stamp their food like alchemists label their potions, so that their test subjects/factionmates can see what spell they're being handed.

On the "Secret Ingredient" food point, I'd particularly like to chime in to say you should be able to tell what it does if you have Sense Magic - at present, it just says "Orange (enchanted)" unless you have Spellcraft.
