For the ES (obviously)
I think it is a bit odd that the ES is most effective as either a Shaolin monk or as some John Wick.
There are so many supercool melee characters I can think of in history. (or in books/comics)
The suggestion below is more a guideline for the general direction.
Might even be a tad underpowered but not sure about that.
Way of the Blade
Each time a weapon is used (even on a miss), the chance that it will decay is halved.
With this skill, melee weapons in the Eternal Soldier's possession are treated as one level of quality higher than they really are. Therefore, an Average sword will gain an accuracy bonus of a Good sword. The quality of an item cannot be raised above Pristine this way.
(Cool pic. Because manly men like to look at pretty things )
Skills; Way of the Blade
Skills; Way of the Blade

But feel free to add additional meaning to that.

Re: Skills; Way of the Blade
I am of the opinion that ES should have skills for all occasions since they're the Perfect Soldier
therefore I like this
make master marksman work with bows and thrown weapons too reee

Re: Skills; Way of the Blade
I do agree with you but, hear me out,
Maybe a 60 CP skill follow up? Way of the Brawler sure needs one too.
That's not a particularly compelling effect to start off. Nothing wrong with repeating the secondary effect of Way of Fast Hands, but otherwise this suggestion doesn't have much meat to it.

Re: Skills; Way of the Blade
I'd prefer a different skill. Tailored to melee.
But similar in affect/power.
I agree that en ES should be able to be the perfect soldier with any kind of weapon.

Well; Most compelling should be the name. Way ot Blade sounds all kinds of awesome.SaltedSalmon wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 8:10 pm I do agree with you but, hear me out,

As for the skill; I was careful to not propose nothing overly powerful.
But I can easily see simply adding a "+1 dmg" tacked on to the skill or something similar.
As long as a melee ES will have some viable skills adding to swords. (spears/axes/etc)

Re: Skills; Way of the Blade
This is essentially a replacement for Hold Bladed Edge, whose removal as a Mortal skill I still don't understand.

Re: Skills; Way of the Blade
am pressuring re-introduction of hbe pretty hard so consider that in this skill suggestion
while further reduction in degrade on attack chance would do something against parry with hbe, prol not a great effect

Re: Skills; Way of the Blade
Well; I mostly am very much in favour of the name "Way of the Blade."
As for the fuzzy details of what the exact skill should be?
If it makes melee a viable choice for an ES; I am all for it.

Re: Skills; Way of the Blade
Wait guys, hear me out.
60 CP - Master of Legends, Child Skill for Way of the Blade
May activate Great Tale status effect for 1 AP, 5 MP. While this status effect is active:
When attacking with a sword, the damage type is converted to Holy, and Demons take +2 damage from your attacks.
When attacking with a non-sword melee weapon, the damage type is converted to Unholy, and Angels take +2 damage.
You do not take damage for using holy/unholy damage in this manner.

Why not simply make the damage type Arcane?SaltedSalmon wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 4:19 am Wait guys, hear me out.
