It's fair that AoE doesn't give xp for damage, but I think it should for kills, and it should give DP to your dark oppressor liege too.
If xp for kills is too much, I think it should give DP at least.

Dark Power is specifically a function of Desecration.

With the AP cap on desecration, having it result from AoE kills wouldn't be totally unreasonable in my opinion.
