Slings cannot be crafted

Slings cannot be crafted and all that.
Tried with bowyer (and toolbox), tried with smithing (and forge). Tried with editing the bowyer options and all I got was this lousy message: You do not have the Bowyer (Non-Craftable) skill needed to craft this item!
