Made a character with option to be assigned to an unaligned faction. Spawned into their stronghold in Purgatorio. Died while crossing on one of the chains. Could not re-spawn, trying to would lead to a 504 bad gateway page. I left the faction I was a part of and after that I was able to re-spawn. I rejoined the faction.

Is there any additional information I can provide?

504 error while respawning is a pretty odd one. I will say that how or where you died shouldn't impact your respawn circumstances at all - only your class and your faction membership should, plus a few other oddities like pacts and phylacteries.

Got it. The issue here is that the game tries to spawn mortals near their strongholds, and your faction stronghold is well outside of the normal respawning area of Purgatorio - so it looked in vain for a place to respawn you and noped out when it couldn't find one. I'll look for a solution.

One solution could be to spawn on the stronghold itself as a fallback right?

That's a good straightforward idea. A change to this effect will be part of the next patch.
