Let's Hunt the Void Leviathan!

Greetings all!

As many of you may have noticed, a few weeks back those wonderful, fun– loving, Stygian– based angels from The Radiant Order ventured forth to Purgatorio and put the almighty smack down on the Void Leviathan. We're going for it again!

Whereas the first attempt was to see if just TRO on their own could tackle the wee beastie (spoiler alert: they could!), this time we're opening our Hunt up to any and everyone in the Nexus. Come one, come all! Get a badge, get some Character Points!

The relevant details:

Time and Date: Tuesday, April 30th at 2000 UTC (1600 EDT USA, 2100 BST, 0500 JST Wednesday)

We do have a process that we'll be following. It worked very well the first time; hopefully it will again.


PREPARATION
Everyone needs to acquire all three flavors of Potions of Invulnerability, Potions of Regeneration, Potions of Combat Clarity, and securing a means of flight. The first three are actually optional; the last is a requirement since the Leviathan is only found over Void tiles and if you can’t fly somehow you won’t be able to attack it.

Everyone absolutely must get ahold of at least 2 Amphetamines. We will need Conduit Portals/Wormholes, and that can cost those characters a lot of AP to pull off. So, we all chip in to offset that cost to them. Bringing along a few Potions of Magic Recovery would doubtlessly help the Conduits out.


STAGING
I will be bringing my Wizard character along (my TRO character Kemuel has already participated), so he is making his Purgatorio Stronghold (The Mysterium) available to anyone who wants to stage from there. The stronghold ward is only 200 points so should be easy enough for folks to break down, but he will gladly add any faction to his ally list so hunters can bypass it; just let me know. I only ask that there be no killing inside the stronghold, for obvious reasons.

Gandledore's Stronghold is currently located at [14, 5] Purgatorio. I do not anticipate moving it until after the Hunt.


ON THE TRAIL
If we are heading off from Gandledore's Stronghold then we will need a Scouting Conduit with Wisp Form and Portal/Wormhole abilities. If we don’t have one, the Hunt becomes more difficult but not impossible.

Day of the hunt, everyone hands over their Amphetamines to the Scouting Conduit. DO NOT FORGET. The Scouting Conduit should have a few Potions of Magic Recovery on hand. DO NOT FORGET.

The Scouting Conduit will Wisp around Purgatorio, looking for the Leviathan. Once found, the Conduit creates a Wormhole at a nearby tile of land. Once they appear back at The Mysterium's Stronghold, that is the signal for everyone to jump through and prepare.

If Hunters are coming from their own Stronghold, you'll need to arrange transport to near the Leviathan (or possible to near The Mysterium's Stronghold so you can use the Scouting Conduit's portal). A Handy Conduit would be most useful, and I'll be sure to mention the location of the critter in the Coordination Discord channel.


ENGAGEMENT
When everyone is situated in Purgatorio near the Leviathan, that is the time to potion up. This would be the time to take Blessings from any Advocates present, if you are able. If there are Advocates with Anoint available, ask them to Anoint you at this time; Amphetamines to offset the 2 AP cost per Anoint would obviously be appreciated.

For those of a Demonic bent, this would be the time to get whatever Dark and Vile buffs you have access to up and going. You will probably want a goodly (heh) supply of Blood Ice to keep yourself in the fight.

Ideally, we will have Lightspeakers with Aethersprites for healing support to those who can accept it. Other pets are useless against the Leviathan, so while all are welcome, perhaps leave non– Aethersprites behind (I believe they will contribute to lag but not help in the fight) if practical.

The Hunt Leader will call GO! and then all will jump into the Leviathan’s tile. Fight for your lives! Fight for glory! Fight for 10 more Character Points!


THE LEVIATHAN
The Leviathan has random soaks and random immunity, except against Laser attacks (these weapons come from the Carousel Station). Against Laser attacks the Leviathan has negative soak, which means it takes extra damage.

What kind of damage the Void Leviathan does is not clear. Thus, the suggestion to gather the Potions of Invulnerability.


ET CETERA
I am hoping for a good fight! With a large enough turnout we might not need much healing, but the Leviathan will give as good as it gets.

A reminder to all the Hunters, we go after the Void Leviathan in 24 hours! Folks are beginning to assemble in The Mysterium's Stronghold. It looks like we have a Conduit for traveling/scouting purposes, so please be sure to have your 'phets to help them out.
